Who we are
Youlongtang publishes the app and is the controller for the usage events set out below. Write to ylt@youlongtang.com.
What never leaves the phone
Invoices, contractor names and contact details, saved material amounts, your business name, address, UTR, bank details, VAT number, logo and terms are held on the device alone. None of it is uploaded to us, and removing the app removes all of it. A device backup made by iCloud may carry a copy, under Apple's own terms.
The seven events we collect
There is no third-party analytics SDK inside the app, no advertising identifier is read, and nothing about you is bought or sold. The app queues seven named events and sends them to a server we run ourselves.
- screen_enter
- Which screen was opened.
- paywall_view
- That the Free and Pro table was shown, and which part of the app led to it.
- artifact_shared
- That an invoice or a tax-year summary went out, with the format (text, PDF or CSV), which of the three CIS rate bands was chosen, which VAT treatment applied, and whether the footer line was printed.
- trial_start
- That a free trial began.
- purchase_success
- That a subscription was bought.
- refund_or_cancel
- That a subscription ended or was reversed by Apple.
- setup_step
- How many of the three set-up steps are done.
Amounts, contractor names, business names, invoice numbers, UTRs, VAT numbers and bank details are never part of an event. Each batch carries one random identifier, generated on the device the first time the app runs, so that events from a single installation can be counted once. It is tied to no name or account, it is handed to nobody, and it feeds neither advertising nor tracking across other apps and websites.
Where the events sit, and for how long
Batches travel over HTTPS to a server Youlongtang operates on Alibaba Cloud in Beijing, China, and land in a database on that same machine. Ninety days after arrival they are deleted by a job that runs daily. Nothing is copied to any other company.
HMRC
There is no connection to HMRC in this app. It does not look up your registration, it does not verify you, and it submits no return or update on your behalf.
Buying Pro
Apple handles the subscription. Card and Apple ID details never reach us; Apple's own privacy policy governs the transaction itself.
Your choices
Removing the app clears everything it kept on the device. To ask which usage events we hold for one installation, or to have them erased, write to ylt@youlongtang.com and quote the short identifier printed under the Free and Pro table - that is how we find them.
Changes
Any later version of this policy appears at this same address, carrying a later effective date.
